The Metalizing gun is a type of thermal spray gun use for the inexpensive coating over the surface of the substrate to prevent it from rust and oxidation. Metalizing is a general name of thermal spray gun use for the coating process on the surface of the metal and non-metal. This metallic coating is done for the protection of the surface of the component. Coating done with the metalizing gun is long-lasting effective and highly versatile.

Types of Metalizing Gun process

In an electric arc spray gun of a metalizing gun, the coating material is melt with the electric arc. Two metallic wires are used in it which are electrically charged with the opposite polarity of the coating feedstock. This will cause a molten arc between each other and high-velocity air is used to atomized molten metal and impinges on the substrate.

In combustion powder spray feed material of coating in the form of powder. The Powder is fed through a flame and propelled by high-velocity oxygen and acetylene or LPG gas with compressed air on the surface of the substrate. This process is mostly used to spray hard surfaces.

In combustion wire spray feed material in the form of wire for zinc coating, aluminum coating, copper coating. In this process, a wire is melt by oxygen and acetylene with compressed air and impinges on the surface of the substrate.

Advantages of Metalizing gun

  • To achieve proper insulation
  • Resistance to corrosion
  • Cost advantages
  • Not subject to degrading
  • Anodic protection of surface
  • Stronger adhesion in comparison to paint
  • Longer lasting than paint
  • Faster and more productive
  • Surface roughness no more than 0.05 mm
  • Pure metals and alloys can be sprayed
  • Can be operated under extreme temperature conditions

Metalizing Gun Applications
