Thermal spray gun

A thermal spray gun is used for the coating process to prevent the surface of the material from rust after surface preparation with the help of a sand blasting machine. In this process melted and semi-melted materials are sprayed onto a surface. Thermal spraying can provide a thick layer of coatings over a large area at a high deposition rate (with high pressure) as compared to other coating processes.

Types of Thermal Spray Gun

Wire Flame Spray Gun

A wire flame spray gun is used for the coating process to prevent the surface of the substrate from rust. In this process coating Aluminum, zinc, and copper wires are used mostly. To melt the coating wire oxygen and acetylene (LPG) is used with compressed air. Melted material impinges on the substrate with high velocity.

Powder Flame Spray Gun

A Powder flame spray gun is used for the coating process. This type of flame spray gun coating material in the form of powder. Powder flame spray gun also contains oxygen, acetylene, and compressed air.

Rod Flame Spray Gun

Rod flame spray gun is used for the coating process of the substrate. In this type the coating material in the form of a rod. In this process, a rod is melted with the help of oxygen and gases like acetylene or LPG with compressed air.

Arc Spray Gun

The Arc spray gun is used for the coating process on a substrate with the help of electric power to melt the wire (rod or powder) of the coating material. The arc spray gun is another form of the arc which deposits a coating on the internal and external surface of a part of any geometry.

HVOF Spray Gun

High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF gun) is a thermal spray system utilizing the combustion of gases or liquid. Combustion gases such as hydrogen and liquid fuel such as kerosene are used. Fuel and oxygen mix and atomize within the combustion area under some conditions that monitor the correct combustion mode and pressure required for coating.

HVOF required a very high velocity for the coating process. This high velocity is used to propel the particles at supersonic speed before impact onto the substrate.
