Shot Blaster Machine

A shot blasting machine is designed for cleaning, strengthening (peening), and polishing metal. Shot blasting machine is utilized in practically every metal-using manufacturer, including aerospace, automotive, construction, shipbuilding, rail, and a variety of other industries. There are two technologies that are used: wheel blasting or air blasting. There are three primary reasons why a thing must be blasted before it can be finished:

  • It cleans and descales the surfaces

  • Enhances paint adhesion by adding character to the surface of metal products

  • Efficiently decreases maintenance costs by increasing the life of the coating

Shot Blasting Equipment

Shot Blasting Equipment is used to remove undesired corrosion and metallic waste on the surface of finished goods. shot blasting machine uses for making the surface uniform and to make it more flush for a better finish after paint or other applications. The process also works for cleaning rust, the severity of the surface, and further fabrication. A Shot blasting machine is enclosed equipment designed for cleaning and preparing rough surfaces. Airo shot blast is the leading shot blasting machine manufacturer in India for sale. shot blasting machine price depends on the characteristics of these types of machinery. Airo Shot Blast is the Best Manufacturers of shot blasting machine, potable shot blasting machine, tumblast shot blasting machine, table type shot blasting machine, hanger type shot blasting machine, stone shot blasting machines in India at a low price for sale with the best quality.

Working of Shot Blasting Machine

As part of this technique of blasting, a controlled stream of abrasive media is propelled towards the metallic or steel surface that needs to be shot blasted with. At the center of the mechanism, A blast wheel is included. The metallic abrasives or shot media are channeled towards the centre of the wheel as soon as it begins to rotate. The abrasives are stimulated and hurled onto the area of the surface that is being prepared for finishing from this position onwards.

After the conclusion of the shot blasting process, the contaminants, as well as the media, make a rebound into a separation system that contains the dust collection system. Just like the name suggests, the dust collector is accountable for collecting or for removing the media that is pulverized, contaminants, or dust. The residual media is recycled by returning it to the shot blasting hopper for storage, where the particles can be retained for future use.

Basic components of shot blasting machine

  1. Abrasive delivery method:

  •  By Compressed Air

  •  By Centrifugal turbines

  1. Abrasive recovery and cleaning

  2. Dust collection

  3. Shot Blasting Cabinet

Abrasive Delivery Method

The steel shot can be accelerated in two ways:

By Compressed Air

This technology is ideal for low-volume applications that require maximum flexibility.

The shot can be delivered horizontally by a rubber shot blasting hose and shot blasting nozzle assembly, making these devices exceedingly versatile. This allows for the finishing of steel frames and weldments without the need for hand tools. As a result, compared to a centrifugal wheel blasting machine, air blasting equipment for a production line is more expensive.

By Centrifugal Wheel

The most prevalent blast cleaning technique, as well as the most cost-effective and environmentally benign, is the centrifugal wheel blasting machine.

The turbine uses centrifugal force to deliver an abrasive shot in a precise and regulated direction, speed, and amount.

The turbine works in the same way as a fan or centrifugal pump does. One or more turbines may be used in shot blasting machines to ensure that the abrasive blast pattern covers the whole surface of the item to be shot cleaned. The number of turbines employed in a machine is determined by the form and size of the parts. The turbine motor's power is determined by the amount of cleaning required and the material's overall speed.

Abrasive recovery and cleaning

To ensure a consistent cleaning process, the abrasive shot must be recirculated and cleaned. When a shot hits a part in traditional shot blasting equipment, the abrasive falls into a collection hopper beneath the machine.

The shot is subsequently transported to a bucket elevator by gravity or screw conveyor. The elevator transports the shot, removed oxides, and other contaminants to an air wash separator in the machine's upper section. These contaminants, which are ineffectual during the shot blast operation, are separated using a combination of baffles, strainers, and plates. The cleaned abrasive is placed in a higher shot blasting hopper (feeding-box) and gravity feeds it into the shot turbine.

Shot Blast Cabinet

Dust and abrasives are contained in the shot blasting cabinet. A dust collector attached on the machine reduces air pressure inside the machine, preventing dust from escaping into the workplace. To prevent abrasive leakage, material access ports in the shot blaster's entrance and exit must be designed and covered.

Cabinets are made of low carbon steel with an abrasion-resistant inner shell made of high-strength alloy plates and thick rubber compounds. In regions where direct high velocity shot is utilized, alloy steel plates (64 RC hardness) are employed, which have significantly better abrasion resistance than other materials such as manganese steel.

Dust collector system

A dust collector removes the dust created during shot blasting from the machinery cabinet and recirculates the abrasive. Baffle filters or cartridges are commonly used in dust collectors.

The dust collector not only maintains the machine clean and dust-free, but it also keeps the surrounding environment clean. Changes in airflow limit collector efficiency, resulting in reduced dust extraction, reduced cleaning power, and increased dust in the immediate production area. As a result, a properly built and sized dust collector is crucial to the shot blasting system's continued effectiveness.

System for holding and transporting parts for shot blasting

Several factors will influence how parts are handled and transported during the shot blasting process.

Tumblast shot blasting machine is used for huge numbers of materials (brake, pulleys, screwdrivers, etc.). A spinner hanger shot blasting machine is used for larger and heavier objects (engine blocks, bicycle frames, bunchwelded parts, and so on).

Tables and multi-table shot blasting machines are used for shot peening gears and other specific components.

Application of Shot Blasting Machine

  • For cleaning metals such as iron, steel, forgings, non-cast components, and other non-ferrous metals.

  • Steel shots are used to clean ms sheets, wire, rods, coils, and other metals mechanically.

  • Shot peening machine is used to alter mechanical qualities such as fatigue resistance in springs, gears, and other components.

Shot Blasting Process Features:

  • High efficiency: special impeller construction, blasting efficiency reaches 16-19 kg/min kw.

  • Protective liner and sealing: the top cover has cast metal and wearable rubber two layers of depth and sealing.

  • Low noise: blast wheel bottom has to cushion rubber, which can decrease vibration.

  • Runner wheel uses 40 Cr metal carburized and satisfied. After processing, a runner needs to be below balance detection.

  • To maintain efficiency and good balance when it turns at high speed, all key machining parts are done by the CNC center.
